Éric Bujold, President

Éric Bujold, B.Sc., ASA

President, Private Banking 1859

Éric is a natural leader who, as an undergraduate in actuarial sciences at Université Laval, sat on their Program Analysis Committee as well as on the first Board of Directors of the Actuarial Sciences School. His noteworthy pedagogical contributions coupled with his outstanding academic success earned him the university's coveted Optimum Excellence Award.

In the first ten years of his professional life, Éric worked as an Actuarial Advisor with two of the world's largest international companies and lecturer. He then shifted gears, becoming a very successful Investment Advisor for Lévesque Beaubien Geoffrion (one of National Bank Financial’s founding institutions), and at the same time an Insurance Advisor with NBF Financial Services.

After a mere 18 months at NBF, he was charged with the responsibility of opening a regional office in Rimouski, Quebec. While serving as President of both Rimouski’s local and regional Chambers of Commerce, he made substantial inroads. Éric surpassed all expectations, displaced the competition, and led NBF to become the top player in the entire geographic region.

In 2007, Éric ranked among the top Investment Advisors in Canada, and rose quickly to become Senior Vice-President and General Manager at NBF.

Today, Éric's objective is clear and simple: to elevate Private Banking 1859 to the lead position in private wealth management across Canada flanked by a team of some of the field's most respected and seasoned experts.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Éric has a strong commitment to young people and to the arts.

He is Chairman of the Board for the Fondation Québec Jeunes, a non-profit organization that supports disadvantaged youth. As well, Éric is a Board Member of the Université Sherbrooke's Corporation études-sports, which offers a scholarship programme that backs its athletes in their pursuit of academic success and sports excellence.

As a Trustee on the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art’s Foundation and a Board Member for the Toronto-based Business for the Arts, Éric has established a significant presence in the art world, and advantageous links for Private Banking 1859.
